In the pandemic, more and more people turned towards dating applications to curb their boredom and find love online. Technology has taken over many areas of our lives and finding our ideal match is no different. Our android app developers created a dating application to help people around the globe find like-minded friends and people based on their likings and interests.

The client from the USA has a technical background of heading many successful IT companies and taking them to newer and more successful heights.
Business Needs
Many dating apps are existing in the market. Keeping the common feature of left and right swipe, our client decided to go a step further and integrate a new feature called live streaming similar to that of Instagram. The idea was not to limit the communication modes of the users and bring out new ways for them to find and interact with individuals on the application.
The Challenge
The social discovery app was to be developed with interactive UI/UX and launched for both iOS and Android devices. To retain and gain new users, such apps require new and exciting features with minimum updates. Also, integrating face filters while live-streaming and adding floating windows for co-streamers willing to go live with the broadcaster came as a challenge for our app developers which required some Research & Development.
Our Solution
After having a thorough discussion with the client, our android app development team decided to use the programming language Kotlin. It facilitates faster development making the social app easier and cheaper to maintain. The features of the app were controlled by the backend to bring new changes to the app without updating it.
For live streaming and face filters, we used Agora SDK and Banuba SDK respectively.
Keeping the tradition of left and right swipe, this dating application has some new cool features to offer:

- Discover feature to find users around the world depending on various parameters like age, education, hobbies, and interests.

- Broadcaster can choose from a set of face filters or go live with his co streamers.
- Gifts from In-app purchases can be transferred while live streaming which can later be redeemed and used like real cash.
- The app’s premium membership opens up many benefits and discounts for its users.
